Thaddeus Timothy Sedah

THE WAY I LIVE AT SCHOOL

My name is Thaddeus Timothy Sedah, I am twelve years old. I am learningin a primary school, and our school is called rachier primary school. I am a standard eight boy. In our school we are three hundred and seven. One hundred and seventy five are girls and the rest are boys. My life in school was very good because many teachers loved me, "why?", because I was a great footballer.

One day, Miss Bagaza the games teacher came into my classroom holding a paperin her hand. All the boys were eager to know and hear the message contained in the paper. It was not long before Miss Bagaza broke the long awaited news that she had selected the school footballer team which was going to play the following Monday. So as she read the names, everybody's heart was pounding with expectations. I knew that my name would be there since I had always represented the school in such matches.but this was a special match and spectators would include the minister of education.so when my name was read, I was overcome with joy.

When the big day came everybody was early in school. The school bus was already there to bring the team. There were lots of people. As I alighted out of the bus I felt so great that I felt like bouncing infront of the people.while they were in the changing room, I heard shouts of 'nyayo! Nyayo! Nyayo!' as if the president had come, infact the chants were meant to welcome the minister and his entourage.

Soon the two teams came out all in full uniform marching. After the national anthem, the referee blew the whistle and the game was started. Within ten minutes the visiting team from bondeni had scored one goal, five minutes later they had added two more. By half time the scores were 3-0, my school having scored nothing.

"It is our turn to beat them or at least level the scores", I said to one of my teammates at half time when we were having refreshments. The teams returned to theb field and the whistle was blown. By now tension had developed into a feverish pitch. Within the first five minutes of second half play, I received a well calculated pass near the opponent goal mouth without making any blunder I accurately hit the ball past the helpless goalkeeper to give my team the first goal. This was welcomed with thunderous cheers by my suppoters. Three minutes later, my team scored another goal through Nina. This was followed almost immediately by my second goal which enabled my team to level the scores to 3-3in the 60th minute of the game.

Now it was do or die with every team fighting tooth and nail to emerge the winner, who was to take home the glittering trophy?. Just when the game was about five minutes to full time, both sides were making spirited moves into the enemies territories, it seemed that the game could go either side. In the 68th minute a certain boy called Sonika hit the ball towards me who was lingering near the penalty area. I returned the ball back to Sonika and moved forward prepared to strike should an opportunity present itself. As the bondeni team defenders advanced towards sonika the latter intelligently passed the ball back to me who was waiting to hit it right into the goal. A loud cheer and applause rent the air as my supporters shouted"goal!". There was no doubt that they had won the match. It was not long before the whistle was blown and the game was over.

Me, being the captain of my team I was called to receive the trophy. As I walked my legs shook beneath me. My hands trembled but courage and confidence returned to me as ishook hands with the minister. I took the trophy wiyh both cheers everywhere. Iran to my teammate and friends and burst almost with tears "hurrah". And then was Miss bagaza waiting with open open arms. I liked playing football.

This was how I lived in school and even now it is my life.注: 文字用の領域がありません!
