A BAD DAY AT SCHOOL
One day I woke up late in the morning. I didn't want to go to school because I was late. My mother shouted at me to wake up but I did not listen to the her words. She again shouted for me but I was still in the bed. Then my father shouted for me once and I obeyed him because he can cane me. I wake up very fast and I washed my face, brushed my teeth, washed my feet and dressed for school. I ran very fast like wind to School.
When I arrived at the School gate, I stopped to look at the office if the teacher of duty was there. I ran very fast past the Headmasters office hoping he had not seen me. He called me loud very hungrily as I was running and I pretended not to hear and he called again and this time I stopped because he was looking straight at me. I went back to his office trembling with fear as my heart pounded against my ribs. Why are you late? He asked me, but then I could not answer him, my tongue got stuck by the salivary glands.
"I was sent yesterday in the evening after school", I said.
"Where were you sent?" he asked
"I was sent to Oyugis" I said
"Why did your mother not come and tell me?" he asked
"It was an urgent message" I said
"You are cheating me" he said
"lay down"
He gave me six stokes of the cane and I went to class very sad. That day I spend my School lessons crying all the time.
